While operating an electric oven in the self cleaning mode, the glass on the oven door shattered spewing glass over the kitchen floor.
Duel fuel range's oven door does not close tight enough to keep the heat in & overheats the control knobs on the front of the stove. Consumer has to prop the door closed during oven use or the heat escapes. Also consumer is afraid to use the self cleaning feature.
consumer reported terrible smell offgasing from dual fuel range when in use or during a self-clean mode. 45 yof & her 6 month old daughter sustained throat & eyes burning after range was into self clean mode. a week later while use a gas burner caught on fire.
Oven of dual fuel range turns on when power goes out and comes back on. It has happened twice. Second time it happened during a storm. Power had gone off during the night & when it came back 48 YOM found the oven on to 405 degrees. Consumer is concerned about fire hazard.
When first time oven was turned on self cleaning feature, 69 YOF heard cracking & then very loud crashing sound. Interior glass of oven had exploded into small pieces. She was injured, no first aid or medical attention received.
Consumer reports that the frame of the stove and burner knobs of the gas range get extremely hot when using the oven and the burner knobs eventually melt. Consumer says burned thumb on the control knob.
A 46-YOM reports that the oven door of the gas range has either warped or spring to close it has worn out causing the door to not close properly. Consumer says that he and his wife, age 53, have received several burns on their hands from the heat escaping from the oven.
Consumer reports that the porcelain in the bottom of the electric oven was flaking and rusting and may not be safe. A technician discovered that the bottom of a cabinet had collapsed and was touching the heating element. Consumer was told to not use the self clean feature.
Twice, consumer had placed pan on gas oven rack & later added another pan to same rack. Consumer pulled rack forward, placed the new pan on the rack, pushing the first pan back. Then the first pan tumbled onto the rack below. There is no lip on back of rack to prevent this
CONSUMER REPORTED ABOUT Rack design defect in a gas stove. the racks are falling in the gas stove & pose potential fire or injury hazard.
Bosch 700 Series HGS7052UC/03
While using oven on self clean mode consumer noticed fire. Fire was at bottom of oven under last grate near igniter. It extinguished on it on. Consumer replaced knobs due to them melted during accident. Igniter was replaced prior to incident.
Entire door of 21 YOM's gas range came off & landed on floor. Plastic piece that holds glass onto oven front broke. Retailer service technicians screwed it back on, but it fell again. Plastic trim pieces and screws were replaced, but stainless steel door came off again.
Consumers returned home & smelled something hot. Gas range display panel indicated that broiler was on & set to HI. Range, microwave, & counters were hot. They turned broiler off & less than half hour later, it did same thing. Repairman diagnosed it as bad control module.
consumer began self cleaning on new electric built in oven. Within 15 minutes of self cleaning process a loud pop was heard. She immediately turned off self cleaning option & noticed the glass had exploded. after opening door she found glass had shattered all into the oven.
52 YOF set pot on back right burner & went to sink, which is about 3.5 feet away. She was there for about 1.5 seconds when gas cooktop shattered. She got hit with glass, but not injured. Daughter wasn't hit. Consumer received cut on bottom of foot & wife removed glass from it
Consumer reports that a gas range door will not properly close due to door hinge failure, requiring excess temperature to cook & excessively heating the room. The consumer stated that an abnormally high temperature increases parts failure and risk of burn or fire.
Range door does not close all the way. Consumer states it is due to a faulty hinge design & poses a fire hazard.
Consumer reported that after built-in electric oven was approximately half an hour in self-cleaning cycle, they heard repeated popping sound. Inspection of oven revealed that inner glass of upper oven had exploded, showering entire oven with glass.
Consumer reports that the hinge assembly on the range connects directly to the thin metal door liner and at high temperatures it experiences accelerated creep, causing the door to gap open and not close properly causing the burner knobs and the oven front to heat excessively.
A 61-YOM says that while cooking on this gas range, he attempted to adjust the left front burner and in the process burned the pad of his right hand index finger. When he lowered the flame using a dishrag, there was a visible hissing sound and steam came from the knob.
33 YOM noticed that while using gas cook top with normal sized pot on it, area around knobs & knobs themselves seems to get quite hot. He stated that technician who measured temperature of this area reported that it was over acceptable range.
Consumer reports that the gas range in his home turned on by itself. Consumer stated that the range was very hot. He turned it off from the control panel. The oven later turned on by itself again. He turned it off from the circuit breaker.
The consumer stated that his wall oven has failed several times by engaging the broiler element. In two incidents, it remained on causing >600 degF temp requiring the high temp safety switch to engage. Even opening the door did not turn it off. He thinks it is faulty relay.
The consumer stated that they awoke one morning and discovered that their oven door had exploded sometime during the night. Glass from the front of the oven door and metal strips from the side of the door were strewn about on the floor. The oven was not being used.
Consumer began having difficulty to turning the gas on or off of a gas 5 burner cooktop. On a couple of occasions, the smell of gas alerted consumer that despite the knob pointing to the off mark, it had not completely shut the gas off. All of the knobs were cracked.
A 59-YOF has had several problems with the gas range since purchased. The door does not close properly. The knobs on the front are damaged from the heat escaping. The front of the stove gets extremely hot causing the adjoining cupboards to get hot. She reports injury to self.
Consumer turned gas wall convection oven on to preheat. Shortly, she heard a loud pop only to find the interior glass had shattered into little pieces. No injuries.
When 69 YO consumer was cleaning oven, heat escaped from It & melted knobs on front of gas range. Unit was repaired, but recently same thing occurred & also this time consumer got error 41 message. It melted knobs & discolored stainless steel outside above door.
While using wall oven self-cleaning mode for the first time the interior glass shattered.
The consumer that the double wall oven in her covered patio kitchen had been used a maximum of 3 times and when she turned it on to preheat, after reaching approximately 375 degrees F, the inside glass shattered.
The consumer stated that the interior glass on the wall oven shattered during the self clean cycle. The consumer stated that the oven was installed 5 months ago and this was the first time she used the self clean feature.
Bosch 800 Series HBL8650UC
The consumer stated that their convection wall oven was in the cleaning mode on a short cycle when the interior glass on the door shattered. Glass was scattered on the kitchen floor and shattered glass piled up against the inside of the door and on the bottom of the door.
74 YOF reported that she has had two double wall ovens & on both units interior glass on top oven exploded. Glass spewed all over inside of oven on 1st one 2 days after using it at Convection Bake 375°, & on 2nd oven 6 months after installation while it was on Self Clean mode
Consumer said knobs to turn on the electric oven were too easy to turn & if the touch pad is brushed, it starts beeping . Consumer's 1YO grandson turns on the oven easily. While cooking or cleaning the cooktop consumer turn on the oven just by leaning over it. Fire Hazard.

Lower oven's interior glass door shattered during self clean cycle.
The consumer indicates that the oven was not in use when its exterior glass exploded. She reported that she used oven approximately two to three times per month.
Bosch 500 Series HBL5751UC
While the oven is turned OFF, the broiler came on by itself. The oven alerted (beep sounds), & when I touched the oven handle & panel, it was very hot. I turned the power breaker off to cut off any power to the oven. Later, found multiple components had burned down.
[66 YOM] Inner oven door glass explodes in cleaning mode. Has happened twice each time it has been in cleaning mode. First cleaning it exploded and glass was replaced. After replacement cleaning mode was tried again, and the glass exploded again.
We were heating a large metal pot that had ~3 inches of water in it for steaming vegetables. While the pot was heating, we heard a bang/pop. The glass top of the [electric range] shattered into pieces ~ 2-4 inches and pieces of glass flew off of the stove across the kitchen.
Caller's spouse was using the oven at a low broil temperature for about 2 mins, when she closed the door she heard a loud noise & noticed that the oven glass door had exploded shattering glass pieces to the floor. Caller feels that this oven door is a safety hazard.
Control knob for large burner of gas cook top becomes inoperable when burner is in use. Heat from burner causes mechanism to expand & it makes impossible to turn knob off. Only way to extinguish flame is to shut off gas & disconnect electricity.
A 36 YOF purchased a single wall oven. The surface of the oven overheats with use self-clean, bake/broil. The glass can reach 158F, the control panel gets even hotter. She believe this is a burning hazard. She was told by a technician that a model problem related to the fan.
62 YOF consumer's gas cooktop's control panel metal plate grew very hot when cooktop was in use. It gets so hot that if consumer's hand accidentally touches plate for more than few seconds, skin would be burned. The more the flame, the hotter the plate will get.
A lower oven door has shattered from the inside, the middle panel. Pieces of glass came from the lower vents and consumer was able to get most of it out by repeatedly opening and shutting the door. The panel on inside and outside are intact. The lower oven was used twice.
The consumer stated that the inner glass on the door of their 18 months old oven exploded while the oven was 40 minutes into the clean cycle.
Consumer's wife was running self-cleaning option when inner glass to oven door of electric range exploded sending glass shards all over inside of oven.
The consumer stated that as his wife was walking toward their 350 degree preheated electric wall oven with the door fully open to place cake batter in it, the inner glass panel on the oven door exploded. Glass pieces were blown onto the kitchen floor and inside the oven.
The consumer stated that she rarely used the bottom oven of her electric double oven. She used it to cook a roast at 500 degs for 30 mins while using the top oven as well. About 15 mins after turning the oven off, the inner door glass shattered, showering glass all over.
Consumer reported that Sabbath mode (190°F) malfunctioned in build-in oven almost causing fire, scorching food & manual thermometer. Thermometer read 550°F. They are not sure how much greater temperature was, as this is upper limit of device.

Interior glass door of oven exploded during oven self cleaning mode.
Consumer used wall oven for baking & noticed 2 hrs later, fan was still running. Oven was still heating. Everything was turned off, reset, no change. Breaker was shut off. Breaker was later turned on. Oven started heating & became very hot. Consumer feels this is fire hazard.
50 YOF was sitting at the kitchen counter when the outside pane of glass in the oven blew out sending shards of glass throughout the kitchen. The oven and the stove top of the gas range were not in use during this time. The last time she used the oven was the night before.
We were baking cookies in the double oven. The oven had shown a couple of errors. They resolved by turning on and off the breakers. The top & bottom ovens were both set to 325. My husband smelled smoke & opened the bottom oven where there were flames shooting out.
13 YOF finished broiling & turned off oven. Before closing door, she heard pop, & noticed flames that was growing inside upper part of oven, behind display. 17 YOF & 47 YOM were in kitchen. 13 YOF got fire extinguisher which allowed them to stop flames.
Bosch 800 Series
The consumer, 48, stated that opening the door on their electric single wall oven at higher temperatures sends a blast if burning air and steam into face. He stated that three different people in household experienced this independently (reported injury to himself).
Consumer reports that when the left or right burner on the gas range at home was turned on, the ignition would only click and let out gas. The burners only sometimes worked. Technicians replaced the ignition system, but the issues returned.
While preheating wall oven, 36 YOF started to smell odd odor & heard pop from oven. She turned it off. Consumer walked in, discovered smoke coming from between stove & cabinet, & shut breaker off. Circuit board & harness connecting to it was on fire. Consumer blew fire out.
64 YOM Consumer reports that during the self cleaning cycle the (dual fuel range) oven interior glass shattered from the heat. Consumer and his son were in the kitchen in close proximity to the oven when the glass shattered. No Injuries Reported.
The Consumer reported that her induction 4 burner glass cooktop exploded shattering glass everywhere.
The Consumer reported that they noticed burn marks on the oven enclosure while servicing their combination oven-microwave. The Consumer stated that the burn marks were from the heat escape paths along the bottom edge of the oven.
