47 YOM reports that the water heater made clicks for 10 seconds before a flame was produced. Consumer believes this is caused by a buildup of natural gas from the delayed ignition that allowed the gas to flow. Consumer considers the heater to be dangerous.

A consumer reports that the electric water heater is faulty & dangerous. The unit sometime does not work. Inner wiring & piping surround the restart button & serial number. The consumer received a strong electric shock while attempting to push the restart button.

Consumer says that the electric tankless water heaters were not kicking off after the valves were shut off, causing hot water to back up where cold water goes in and melted the pipes and bursted the water pipes set at luke warm temp. Had 3, all did the same over 2 yr period.

A 40 YOF reports that a water heater has faulty sensor. Results in water temperatures fluctuating between scalding hot and cold resulting in potential scalding injuries.

56 YOM reports that the gas water heater in his home can flash freeze very easily because the heat exchanger is placed near the vent of the heater. It has flash frozen four times, and on one instance flooded the basement. Consumer managed to stop the heater.

Consumer reports that the hot water heater failed to turn off and blew the hot water line. This resulted in hot water and steam being released from the line. This is unsafe and could have caused a burn/scalding injury.
