Consumer have a recalled food processor and a blender, both of which have blades for which plastic casing on blade is cracked. Consumer wrote to manufacturer & they said these products are safe to use even though consumer sent a photo of a broken & cracked blade.

The consumer stated that he has a hand blender where the blade previously shattered and was left in food. He stated that the mfr sent him a replacement blade that is having the same problem of the metal cracking where it looks like it will fail.

71 YOF consumer was using immersion blender. The sound went from a whir to nothing. She pulled it out and looked at unit, cord was still plugged in. Consumer poured the liquid into glass and found the two steel blades, detached from center post, were floating in glass.

35 YOF consumer's hand blender's 3/4 inch long plastic collar surrounding the blade shaft just above the blade itself disintegrated into the food. Consumer states this is a safety issue; the food was meant for a baby. Consumer got a runaround with manufacturer.

A 37 YOF was using blender when the blade assembly came unscrewed from the plastic jar while the motor was engaged. She said she could have been injured by the blades because they were still rotating. She said this same issue happened before also.

While using electric blender 54 YOF was dislodging stuck food with her finger. Blades accidentally activated by gentle torque on stick. She sustained multiple lacerations, 4 fractures & severed tendon. ER attending stated this was 3rd injury caused by this type of blender.

The Consumer reported that their hand blender has a reversible blade that is molded into a plastic hub in the chopper/grinder attachment and the plastic blade hub has started developing cracks on the inner surface near the root of the blade which can be potentially hazardous.

62 YOF suffered finger laceration requiring approximately 9 stitches, which occurred after hand blender failed to turn off while being disassembled. It's possible for main power switch to be "on" , allowing blade to continue turning while second "detach" button is pressed.

54 YOM used immersion blender, & rinsed it off using index finger & as he moved it toward water he inadvertently pressed power toggle switch. It sliced through his finger 3 or 4 times snapping upper finger bone in half. He underwent reconstruction surgery in emergency room.

A 60-YOF was using the blade device on her hand blender. When clearing the food from the blade she inadvertently pressed on the switch, which requires only the lightest of pressure, and nearly chopped off her left middle finger fracturing the bone. Needed 17 stitches at ER.
