The consumer stated that while popping corn, the corn popper caught fire. The plastic top melted into the bowl placed under it to catch the (now flaming) popcorn, and the blower blew flames into the air.

Electric popcorn maker caught on fire while consumers were making popcorn. Fire burned through buttom of butter cup, which added to fire. 16 YOM put more than normal amount of kernes into popper. 18 YOF was also present during incident. They weren't injured.

When squeezing handle & flipping hot plate of popcorn maker over, internal markings of plater are exposed & make product hot to touch. Consumer's daughter burned her hand by touching plate. , A plastic piece broke off from popping plate, which exposes unit.

Consumer stated that popcorn maker has defective handles. Only way to use unit is to separate bottom plate from base in order to turn it over. Popcorn maker came apart d/t defect in latch mechanism & consumer almost dropped burning plate & popcorn on 3 YOM.

69 YOM reported that while making popcorn with Popcorn Maker his daughter attempted to turn it off using ON/OFF switch, but popper continued to run, & they observed sound & smell of electrical arcing. She unplugged unit. He stated that device is less than year old.
