This recall involves Haier 42-inch LED TVs with model number LE42B1380. Haier is printed on the front of the TV and the model number is printed on a label on the back of the unit.

Consumer’s TV was plugged in an outlet in the off position. Consumer’s son an 11YOM was awakened by smoke & flames coming from the back of the TV. The consumer's husband extinguished the fire & called the fire department. Damages are around $10,000.

Consumer says she heard a loud crack and her kids told her the television fell to the floor. Upon inspecting the television, the consumer says she saw the stand was split in half.

Consumer says the television was being rotated to the right for better viewing when the stand cracked and the television fell on top of their 11-year-old son. The child was injured.

Consumer was watching TV when plastic cuff forcefully broke into pieces, ripping out screws connecting TV to base. TV toppled over & fell onto ground, damaging one corner but otherwise still functional. Stand itself did not move.

A 53 YOM reports that 42" TV's stand broke when he accidentally touched the TV. Manufacturer website stated that the stand was recalled. The replacement is supposed to be shipped in 3-5 weeks after registration. However it's past 7 weeks & he has not received it yet.

70 YOM was auto-programming TV. He got burning & itching sensation on face. TV had been on for about hour & chemical smell was coming from it. Smell only occurred when TV was on. He had tightness in his chest from chemicals that emitted from TV, no 1st aid received.

TV fell due to stand cracking. While plugging cable into rear of TV, TV toppled over, but consumers were able to catch it. TV was about 5 feet off the ground.

The consumer stated that the television (58" LED) was on the stand when the glass base provided with the TV shattered and caused the TV to crash onto the end table breaking the screen.
