Consumer reports that oil-filled space heater overheated & exploded, spewing hot oul onto carpet & nearby bed. It melted carpet & sent smoke & fumes into house.

45 YOF reported that the oil filled radiator heater gets unbelievably hot to the touch. It burned a spot on her curtain and tipped over unexpectedly, falling on her foot & causing her to wind up in the emergency room. She stated that unit is unbalanced & wobbly.

The oil-filled heater control panel had a meltdown in about a 1" square area and plastic dripped off the face. The consumer indicated that the unit was in an unoccupied storage room that was heated to prevent pipes from freezing.
