The consumer reports that the refrigerator relay was burnt & wiring charred.
Door on left side of the Refridgerator closes all of the time on consumer & knocks items out of the hand, Hits the shoulder or arm & things drop on consumer's feet. Bottom Freezer drawer has moisture outside of door all of the time & water drips on the floor.
Consumer reports that there was black smoke coming from behind the refrigerator. He says the technician told him that th ewires were arced and the relay switch was faulty in the unit .Consumer says previously the ice maker had been repaired.
Consumer reports that while his mother was using the ice dispenser on the refrigerator, a flame projected from the dispenser's arm which lasted approximately 2 1/2 seconds before disappearing and the unit then became inoperable.
Consumer woke up to smell of something electrical burning & could not locate source. Next morning consumer discovered that everything in freezer was thawed. Consumer unplugged refrigerator & found compressor relay shorted & burned out.
Owner has a refrigerator/freezer with an ice & water dispenser built into the door. On 2 occasions, the ice & water dispenser stopped working due to wiring in the door. Owner is concerned that frayed & broken wires in a unit may be a dangerous & leading to electrical shock.

Consumer reports that refrigerator compressor switch overheated, emitted smoke, and nearly caught on fire.
Consumer reports that the refrigerator began making a very loud noise and it increased over the course of a month until the unit began to not keeping the temperature properly. She says she pulled it out and discoverd a charred, melted area by the compressor start relay area.
Consumer noticed that vertical divider separating freezer & refrigerator was hot. As time has gone by, divider was getting hotter to point that vertical gasket has turned brown. Repairman verified that cooling fan was not working. His neighbor had similar problem.
Consumer reports that heavy smoke started coming out of refrigerator. It had smell of melted plastic. Consumer shut off main breaker & moved refrigerator. Repairman came in & said that capacitor compressor starter or compressor went out. Removed part was charred.

Freezer side temperatures drop to very cold temperature. Refrigerator’s side would start to increase temperature & becoming warm. Refrigerator starts to make loud noises. Consumer stated that control board runs everything in refrigerator & it was 3rd he had to replace.
Consumer reports an electrical fire in the refrigerator at the starter motor relay and junction with the compressor filling the room with smoke.
Consumer reported that start relay (white plastic adaptor) to compressor melted starting fire in back bottom of Refrigerator.
Consumer awoke during night and noticed an acrid smell. In the morning he went to the refrigerator and noted that the ice was melted. He discovered that the compressor starting device was charred and fused to the compressor. As he tried to remove the device, it just crumbled.
The consumer stated that the electric control panel on the refrigerator drawers stopped working. Service found that the power cord that runs along the side of the top drawer had frayed due to rubbing of the power cord against the drawer as it was opened and closed.
Refrigerator caught fire in home. A 46 YOF was able to unplug the unit. Fire still continued with lots of black smoke filling the room & home. The starter solenoid on the compressor shorted & melted also melting the metal prong on the compressor & electrical wires connected.
51 YOF heard twice sound similar to crackling or popping sound coming from refrigerator & observed large amount of thick electrical smoke emitting from unit. She unplugged unit. Fire department has determined that fire was electrical & source of fire was refrigerator.
Consumer's wife noticed popping, burning smell and smoke coming from the back of the refrigerator. The unit was pulled in order to unplug it. On back, it was found that the start relay connected to the compressor had dark marks. The unit was plugged but smoking was again.
62 YOM reported that when they came home after vacation, they noticed "burnt" odor in air & discovered that under counter beverage center had quit working. Repair tech informed them that back & all plastic parts inside had melted from overheating.
The consumer stated that their garage filled with smoke and a noxious odor. The source of the smoke was the start device on their refrigerator. The start device had started to melt.
Automatic defrost in refrigerator began to malfunction & puddle of water would form on floor at base of unit. 57 YOM has to remove layer of ice away from catch basin about every six days. It became safety issue d/t risk of slipping on wet floor. He was injured, no 1st aid.
The ice maker on our refrigerator shorted out. We were home at the time. We had the refrigerator door open when we heard a sound as if someone was being electrocuted. Smoke started coming out. (58 YOF & 59 YOM suffered unspecified injuries, no first aid or medical attention)
56 YOM consumer reports that the ice maker in the refrigerator was emitting plastic pieces from the ice dispenser. The side of the plastic housing had fractured and fell into the compartment. This is unsafe and could easily be ingested or cause other injury.
The Consumer reported that the water line from the refrigerator valve to the dispenser started leaking at the snap on the connector and damaged cabinets.
