A 57 YOM reports that on multiple occasions the slicer malfunctioned. The blade cover broke off; the safety blade shield broke off. Once while using the unit, his pointer finger got sliced off & was bleeding. He went to the Hospital, they termed the wound as an avulsion.

A 45 YOM was cutting fruit with slicer. When he press down with hands on the side grips, the blades broke free of their outer plastic housing & the back of the blade sliced through his hand. He needed 4 stitches at the Emergency Room for a laceration.

44YOM was using a press-down style apple slicer to slice an apple. The slicing blades broke free of the plastic ring. Consumer's hand and wrists were hit by the ends of the blades. A 1/4" one way or the other and consumer's hands/wrists could have been cut very badly.

36 YOF was using a apple slicer/corer to slice an apple. The blades detached from the plastic housing as she was slicing the apple and one of the blades sliced into her hand. She required stitches and was treated in ED.

The consumer, 47, stated that he was using the apple corer/slicer to core/slice an apple, when the device's circular blade completely broke through the circular plastic handle and severely cut the palm on his both hands just below the thumbs.

The Slicer/Shredder has cracked where it attaches to the appliance, and could completely detach during operation. This is the second one of this design that I have owned that has done this. [No Injuries]
