consumer's dishwasher started kicking out error code "LE". consumer took the front panel off the dishwasher and there 3 melted wires, 2 of which were completely broken.

Consumer reports that the dishwasher has leaked since it was purchased. A repairman found the valve pump defective. Consumer says that the underflooring of his kitchen is now damaged and the leak has gotten to a junction box in the basement which poses a shock hazard.

On six different occasions wires in the harness of dishwasher have broken behind the door panel resulting in various failures of the electrical system. As a result, there is evidence in the door panel insulation of slight burning caused by the broken wires.

Door on dishwasher falls down rapidly; it initially had counterweight or buffer to prevent this, but recently has become inoperable. If door is closed lightly & not latched, it falls. This happened to 49 YOF & she received bruise on her leg. She received first aid for injury.

Consumer reports that dishwasher stopped working. Repairman determined that electronic control board had burnt up & replaced it. When another technician tried to run unit, it sparked, smoked, & caught fire. It was determined that electronic control board was cause of fire.

During last two years consumer has persistent problem with dishwasher. When it ceased functioning, consumer replaced motor, but unit still had error code. Consumer discovered & fixed three times different wires in front door panel which were coming apart.

A 58 YOM reports that the dishwasher emits toxic organic volatile compounds as a result of asphalt-like material heating up & gassing off during the wash cycle. He experienced symptoms: noxiousness, headache, vertigo. The manufacturer uses this material to dampen the noise.

The consumer stated that during normal use, the dishwasher had a strong smell similar to electrical burning. It got progressively worse. He removed the main circuit board and noticed that the main power to the board (had burned and a dark tar like substance covered the board.

Consumer had 2 electrical shorts in door panel wiring of dishwasher. First was due to insulation material that stretched wires. Second short burned through 2 wires & melted 2 more. One was burned in half, second had insulation burned off, & 2 more were charred.

My wife smelled & then saw smoke coming from the closed door of the dishwasher. Unit was turned off at the time & not in use. She put out the fire with a fire extinguisher, & then turned off the breaker to the unit. The kitchen, dining & living room were filled with smoke.

Dishwasher spontaneously burst into flames. All of electronics in door of unit ignited, causing small fire in kitchen. Consumer was able to put it out quickly. After fire department left electrician checked connection at wall & it was fine, fire originated in dishwasher.

Dishwasher has unsealed electrical locking device on top that is susceptible to water seeping into it & shorting device causing it to heat up & melt components around it. Smoke started to fill the kitchen when it was shorting out & melting. The first floor full of smoke.

The Consumer stated that their 2-year-old dishwasher never worked properly. Recently, it completely stopped working. Found the electrical panel under the unit had begun to melt the plastic cap and burnt the plastic wire covering.

48 YOM Consumer reports that while dishwasher was in mid-cycle, their 47 YOF spouse smelled very strong electrical fire odor. She stopped the dishwasher & opened the inside panel & found that wire connection to the circuit board & control board have melted. No Injury.

Consumer reports that there are design flaws with the dishwasher that take it a safety and fire hazard. The latch and seal are designed so that there is a hole in the latch that leads directly to the electrical wiring within the door. and water leaking.

While running regular wash cycle on dishwasher, 44 YO consumer, 50 YO spouse & 5 YO child smelled burning electrical parts. Breaker tripped & cut power to unit. When they tried turning breaker back on, they heard spark of shorts & smelled burning electrical smell again.
