The State Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in a television. Upon Arrival they found the back of the TV melted and burned at the coaxial connection. A coaxial cable was connected at the time of the fire.

A 39-YOM stated that his television began making occasional light clicking sounds. Hours later, the clicking got louder and more frequent and the TV started smoking. He unplugged the TV, but the power light was still on. He lifted the back of the TV and got shocked.

Consumer reported that inside of TV caught on fire while 13 YOF was watching it. Consumer stated that It could not have been outlet because TV was connected to surge protection power strip. DVD player had no problems, nor phone that was charging.

36 YOM reported that recently TV was on fire. As he plugged in TV, he heard sparkling noise & then saw fire coming out from back of TV to cable. He immediately unplugged it & put out fire.

65 YOM reports that the TV was in use when it produced a popping sound, followed by more popping sounds. Smoke then came from the top vents and other areas of the casing. Consumer turned off the TV, unplugged it, and moved it outside. The smoke set off a fire alarm.

I had been watching television for about 3 hours when all of a sudden it made a large pop, the screen went black & smoke started coming out of the top & sparks were shooting out the bottom. It made another pop with more smoke & sparks. I cut the power & the sparks stopped.

It is reported that fire originated in television at a house . The TV was in use & had been turned off prior to the incident. A 38 YOF discovered fire in the TV . A 41 YOM suffered minor smoke inhalation; he refused EMS but was coughing. 38 YOF & 5 YOM suffered no injuries.

Feet at both ends of TV are in form of arch & made of flimsy plastic. When no one was in room, portion of front of arch on both sides broke off causing TV to fall forward & off TV stand. Consumer believes that there may be possible fire hazard as electric wires were stretched

Consumer reports that after smelling smoke they discovered their 2 month old tv was the reason., despite not being turned on. The unit had caught fire spontaneously. They unplugged it and covered it with a blanket. The screen was melting and not useable. Fire hazard.

Female consumer reports that she screwed the elgs onto the television as instructed but noted that the screws seemed short and did not tighten. Over time she noticed that the legs were wobbly. The television tipped over and hit her on the head. She suffered a concussion.

Consumer reports that the TV was placed o an entertainment center. After 15 months the unit fell forward and hit heir 2 YOF daughter on the side of the head. The screws on the stand that came with the tv had stripped from the plstic sheath. Unstable.

38 YOM consumer reports that the universal swivel tv stand base was placed on a dresser with the tv on it and a stream bar. While in another room he heard a loud crash and found the TV and stream bar upside down on the floor and the glass base shattered.

Recently the plastic TV leg stands holding the heavy TV up snapped in half and the TV toppled over, and as result the screen cracked. The TV was on, but no one was near it. The TV screen was completely ruined and the TV is no longer functional.
