Liquid rinse-aid can leak from its dispenser and come into contact with the dishwasher's internal wiring which can short-circuit and ignite, posing a fire hazard. The recall involves Maytag and JennAir under counter or portable plastic tub dishwashers. The dishwashers have black, white, almond, bisque and stainless steel front panels.

The affected dishwashers were manufactured with black, bisque, white, silver and stainless steel front panels. Sold at department and appliance stores and by homebuilders nationwide from February 2006 through April 2010 for between $250 and $900.
