Bosch Recalls SkilSaw Miter Saws Due to Laceration Hazard

  • Date: 7/10/2012

The recalled product is the SkilSaw 10-inch compound miter saw, with model number 3316 and date codes 111, 112, 201, 202, 203 or 204.

Robert Bosch Tool Corp. Recalls Skil Circular Saws Due to Laceration Hazard

  • Date: 8/15/2007

The trigger switch on the circular saw can be locked on or the switch can be turned on without the use of the safety lock-out. This can cause unexpected operation of the saw, posing a risk of laceration.

The blade drive mechanism may loosen or the motor can separate from the tool. Loosening of the blade drive mechanism can result in kickback of the item being sawed, resulting in possible laceration. Motor unit separation can cause the coasting saw blade to damage the saw wiring resulting in possible electric shock, or the separated motor could strike the user and cause injury.

  • Date: 10/17/2014

The lower blade guard on 51 YOM's miter saw partially broke away from the machine and made contact with the blade.

SkilSaw 3316-111

  • Date: 11/19/2016

The submitter stated that while the miter saw was in operation cutting a 2x4 piece of lumber, it made a loud noise and parts of the saw flew out of the machine. The projectiles included a section of the rip guide which appeared to be part of the pivoting blade guard.

SkilSaw 3800

  • Date: 7/24/2017

The consumer stated that while using the compound mitre saw to make a straight-cut on a piece of 1x3 whitewood, the lower guard assembly broke and came in contact with the blade causing shrapnel to fly in all directions. Issue identical to that in the recall on another model.

SkilSaw 3315

  • Date: 8/1/2020

The Consumer stated that when using the [miter] saw on an irregular shaped piece of wood, there was suddenly a loud noise, the work piece went flying forward and the guard broke into several pieces at high velocity. The Consumer found there was a recall for this exact cause.

SKIL 3800

  • Date: 11/16/2021

69 YOM reported, that while using the miter saw, the guard touched the blade and shattered, which caused serious injury to his left index finger. He went to the ER and then he was transported to another hospital for surgery. He was released the following day.
