  • Date: 2/6/2018

The consumer stated that an short in the wiring of their cooktop ignited a fire in the kitchen. When they turned the knob to start, it clicked a few times and then little flames started coming out of the knob. They used a rag to turn the gas off and called the fire department.

Consumer reported that while his wife walked past electric range brushing against it, she accidentally turned oven control on. He believes that this is result of oven turns on much too easily & it is fire hazard.

Consumer reports that the gas wall oven is not safe for use. The door to the oven does not seal close and allows extremely hot air to escape. This results in the surrounding areas to be hot to the touch. This is a serious potential burn hazard and a sdeisgn flaw.

Consumer reports that their mother used electric range to boil water. She moved the pot of water from one burner to another. She brushed portions of the knobs with the hot pot & the plastic knobs melted. She is concerned about the proximity of the knobs to the burners.
