  • Date: 1/25/2016

A 35 YOF reports microwave/wall oven executed for the first time "self-clean" per owner’s manual instructions. 15 minutes into the cycle, the inner glass exploded. There are 3 panes of glass in the door. The glass that exploded was the inner pane which cannot be touched.

Thermador CM301US

  • Date: 3/20/2012

Consumer reports that when the self-clean function of the microwave is used, it burns out the fuse and causes other components to overheat. Technician advises the consumer to install an upgrade kit that fixes the problem. Consumer states the unit is under recall.

Thermador MBES/01

  • Date: 2/13/2014

Microwave oven began emitting smoke and a burning electronics/rubber smell while heating water. The unit was stopped, but the smoke & smell continued for more than 5 minutes. It seemed to come from the internal components via the back vent. Called fire dept. Injury reported.
